چکیده

In this study, new composite materials of montmorillonite, biochar, or aerosil, containing metal–organic frameworks (MOF) were synthesized in situ. Overall, three different MOFs—CuBTC, UTSA-16, and UiO-66-BTEC—were used. Obtained adsorbents characterized using powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, nitrogen adsorption porosimetry, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry. Additionally, the content metallic nonmetallic elements was determined to investigate crystalline structure, surface morphology, thermal stability obtained MOF-composites, etc. Cyclic CO2 analysis performed approach, modeling from flue gasses. our addition aerosil CuBTC (CuBTC-A-15) enhanced sorbed amount by 90.2% biochar (CuBTC-BC-5) increased adsorbed 75.5% comparison pristine study. Moreover, montmorillonite (CuBTC-Mt-15) 27%. CuBTC-A-15 CuBTC-BC-5 are considered be most perspective adsorbents, capturing 3.7 mmol/g showing good after 20 adsorption-desorption cycles.

Recent advances in carbon dioxide capture with metalorganic frameworks

Uncontrolled massive release of the primary greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) into atmosphere from anthropogenic activities poses a big threat and adversely affects our global climate and natural environment. One promising approach to mitigate CO2 emission is carbon capture and storage (CCS), in which ideal adsorbent materials with high storage capacity and excellent adsorption selectivity ov...

Metal-organic frameworks as adsorbents for hydrogen purification and precombustion carbon dioxide capture.

Selected metal-organic frameworks exhibiting representative properties--high surface area, structural flexibility, or the presence of open metal cation sites--were tested for utility in the separation of CO(2) from H(2) via pressure swing adsorption. Single-component CO(2) and H(2) adsorption isotherms were measured at 313 K and pressures up to 40 bar for Zn(4)O(BTB)(2) (MOF-177, BTB(3-) = 1,3,...

Thermodynamic screening of metal-substituted MOFs for carbon capture.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as promising materials for carbon capture applications due to their high CO2 capacities and tunable properties. Amongst the many possible MOFs, metal-substituted compounds based on M-DOBDC and M-HKUST-1 have demonstrated amongst the highest CO2 capacities at the low pressures typical of flue gasses. Here we explore the possibility for additional perf...

Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage: A General Review on Adsorbents

CO2 is the primary anthropogenic greenhouse gas, accounting for 77% of the human contribution to the greenhouse effect in 2004. In the recent years, global concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is increasing rapidly. CO2 emissions have an impact on global climate change. Anthropogenic CO2 is emitted primarily from fossil fuel combustion. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is one option for reduc...

Carbon dioxide capture in metal-organic frameworks.

Efforts to utilize metal-organic frameworks, a new class of materials exhibiting high surface areas, tunable pore dimensions, and adjustable surface functionality, for CO2 capture will be presented. Open metal coordination sites on the framework surface can deliver a high CO2 loading capacity at low pressures. However, additional criteria such as water stability and the selective binding of CO2...
